The first day of this course I was nervous because it was my first course, I was going to be taking at a university level. Another reason I was nervous was because it was a class that was going to require me to stand in front of the class and present. I did not have the confidence to stand in front on the class and present. I knew it was going to be one of the most challenging parts of the class and I was ready to overcome my fear of standing in front of the class and presenting. I was able to accomplish this thanks to the help Dr. Sharlene Gregg offer me throughout the semester. She was always available in her office hours to answer any questions I had to improve my presentation and give me advice on how to prepare for the presentations. By the end of the semester we had to do a final presentation on a topic that we found interesting to us. The focus of my presentation was to have a proposition where it allowed immigrants workers to come to the United States to work legally. Here you can see my presentation. Thanks to the tips and suggestion of Dr. Sharlene I was able to do very well in my presentation. I was able to do very well because I tried to use all the tips, she gave us throughout the semester. I was able to come a long way thanks to her. I was thankful with her because all the advice she gave I was going to be able to use them in my future presentations. In my major requirements we have many presentations that we have do, so I’m glad that I took that class at the start of my university career. I will be able to apply all her tips in my other classes presentations to try and do the best presentation possible. After this class I was able to increase my confidence to stand in front of the class and present my work. This class was one that challenge me but everything I did was worth it because it made me a better student and person.
