This course meets MLO1 https://csumb.edu/course/span/301
The way this course contributed to my fulfillment of the outcome of MLO 1 was by having class discussions. One of the class discussions we had was about gender identification. This topic is very controversial at the moment in our society, but professor Dr. Pablo Oliva still was willing to talk about it. With this discussion we were able to tell our point of view on what we thought about how people identify themselves in today’s world. In some cases, someone will not reveal their true gender identification because they are scared of how people would react and that’s why some people do not reveal it. After we have had our class discussions Dr. Oliva gave as homework to write a story about someone having to face the challenge of traveling to the world that they identify as a different gender then what people identify them and here is my story. Now moving on to what understanding and knowledge did I gain from this course that is a significant contribution for my major is lesson Dr. Oliva gave us accentuation rules lesson. I did gain from this lesson because I had trouble putting accents on words because I did not know the rules. Like any other lesson the professor gave us we wanted to see how well we understood things, so we would give us an assignment to do to prove to him we were understanding the material. In this assignment I prove to him that I did learn some things to improve my Spanish writing. For my goals that I have in developing further are to continue improving my accentuation. Also, increase my knowledge on how to help people that suffer from depression or something else because they get rejected because of their gender identity. The way that I intend to explore this learning experience is by challenging myself to help other students if they have trouble like me with the accentuation rules. I would like to help them and that way I will figure out myself if I was able to retain the information I was taught.
