In SPAN 304 we begun the course by analyzing narrative literature essays. Some of the narrative literature essays movements were Realism, Romance and Generation ’98. Also, we analyze poems with the same movements. By doing this it contributes to my fulfillment of the outcomes of MLO 3. The work I completed in this learning experience that illustrates my devolvement in this area was that toward the end of the semester we had to do a in group five a presentation on one of the movements. Unfortunately for me I had to do it by myself because my group members did not show up for class. I took this great opportunity to prove myself and classmates what I had learn in class. I was able to do that with my presentation on Romance (Middle Age). After my presentation I realize that I still had a lot of material I could study to increase my knowledge on the topic. For instance, I can do some more research on why people remain anonymous when it’s important to know who wrote the material, that way we can give them the deserve credit. The way this course relates to other courses I have taken in CSUMB is that it made us think critically. Since the majority of the stories and poems we read, I hadn’t read or heard about them before. This really encourage me to think and try to understand what the writer was telling us in his writings. For instance, in SPAN 16 we also read about the middle age in Europe, but we did not talk or read about the writing that was done at that time, so this expanded my knowledge on this topic. The way I plan to further explore this learning experience is by asking my future professors about this. Maybe it can relate with other courses I still need to take. That would be also a great opportunity to gain some knowledge from them or even better if they had done a project on it too.
